On Saturday, June 23, 2018, opened the MIFA fair, Togo 2000, the Togolese Center of Exhibitions and Fairs (CETEF) of Lomé.
Initiated by the Head of State, the MIFA is defined as the “Mechanism Incentive for Agricultural Financing”. Formerly known as TIRSAL, the MIFA is an innovative mechanism to promote the agricultural sector in Togo in particular through a better contribution of banks to finance agriculture and value chains. MIFA targets goals such as the development of policies adapted to the agricultural sector and the consolidation of links in agricultural value chains.
The MIFA fair is open until Saturday, June 30, 2018. It includes both farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector as well as financial institutions. Among the exhibitors are the NGO ETD and the ESOPs. ESOPs are identified as one of the key players in the rice value chain.
The MIFA was officially opened on Sunday, June 24, at 11:00, by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Hydraulics, Mr. OURO-KOURA Agadazi. The MIFA launch ceremony is scheduled for Monday, June 25, 2018 with the signing of partnership agreements in the presence of the Head of State
