Started on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Lomé, the second edition of the “Fair Made In Togo” officially opened on Monday, July 31 at the Togolese Center of Exhibitions and Fairs of Lomé (CETEF-Lomé).

Coupled with the first edition of the “national meetings of digital and connected objects”, this second edition of the Made In Togo Fair was inaugurated by the Minister of Commerce and Promotion of the Private Sector.

For Rappel, the Fair Made In Togo aims to promote on the one hand products of Togolese origin to promote and encourage their consumption and, on the other hand, the Togolese culture.

More specifically, this Fair aims to:

promote the production and consumption of goods and services of Togolese origin in all sectors of economic activity;
to encourage and promote Togolese craftsmanship;
ensure visibility of national tourist sites for consumption by tourists;
create a point of attraction and entertainment in the city during the holidays;
to make young people aware of the importance of undertaking in the field of processing;
inform the public about government mechanisms for valuing local production.
The official opening ceremony began at 10:20 am with the speech of the Director of CETEF, Mr. Kuéka-Banka Johnson followed by the speech of Mrs. Essossimna Légzim-Balouki, Minister of Trade and Promotion of the Private Sector.

In her opening address, Minister Légzim-Balouki emphasized the importance of the Fair “Made In Togo” and expressed her satisfaction at seeing this second edition having more exhibitors than the previous year.

Indeed, from 90 exhibitors, this year it has grown to 149 exhibitors for an exhibition area ranging from 750 to 1400 m2.

The official kick-off of the “Made In Togo” fair was given by the Minister of Commerce with the symbolic ribbon cutting and the Mono Pavilion booth.

As a commercial structure representing the ESOP -Togo, the Resop is among the stands to visit with its products from Togolese family farming: Rice delight (long grain, break and parboiled rice), honey, soymilk flour Zogbon and Soy Life.

At the RESOP stand, the bag of DELICE rice (long grain) of 5 Kg is available at 3200 F CFA, the bag of 25 Kg is at 14 500 F CFA and the bag of 5 × 5 Kg is at 15 000 F CFA.

Originally scheduled to finish on August 7, 2017, the Fair “Made In Togo” will finally open until August 11 to coincide with the Forum Agoa 2017 to be held from August 8 to 10 in the capital.

This is an opportunity for all exhibitors to make their products known to participants of the African Groth and Opportunity Act “(AGOA) and why not, more easily access to exports on US soil.
