The strategic orientation plan 2016-2020 is a framework document that highlights the main priorities for ETD activities for the next four years.
The ETD strategic plan was born from the cross-examination resulting from the conclusions of self-diagnosis, the external environment assessment and the results of the listening mission of ETD beneficiaries and technical and financial partners under the facilitation of an external consultant.
The new strategic lines were defined in a post-COP 21 context marked by the adoption of sustainable development goals by world leaders, making the fight against climate change a central element of operations for the coming decade, particularly in Africa.
These strategic lines are part of a context of economic growth recovery but with a persistence of significant territorial and socio-economic disparities. They are expressed as follows :
Strategic focus n° 1 : Develop agri-food SMEs and value chains by scaling up the ESOP approach
Strategic focus n° 2 : Promote sustainable and accountable production methods that ensure food and nutrition security for people
Strategic focus n° 3 : Strengthen the position and role of local communities to improve territorial governance, local democracy and community resilience
Strategic focus n° 4 : Build strategic alliances with the private sector, civil society, research institutions and the government to increase beneficiary satisfaction and create employment for young people
Strategic focus n° 5 : Consolidate the recognition, involvement and influence of ETD on sectoral policies in the countries where activities are carried out.
