Specific goals: (i) Increase productivity and peri-urban vegetable production while improving the quality of products. (ii) Increase and secure the income of market gardeners.
Expected results: R1: 1. Market gardeners have increased their productivities and their productions. R2: 2. Quality market garden produce are available in peri-urban and urban markets. R3: 3. A marketing system is promoted and secures market opportunities for market gardeners. R4: Modern marketing practices are applied.
Major achievements: (i) 120 market gardeners supported and technically assisted (ii) provision of inputs, materials and work equipment (02 super tank of 1 m3, super tank of 2 m3, 03 suppressors, 03 motor pumps, 500g of green pepper seed, 1000g of tomato seed, 400g of eggplant seed and 63 liters of insecticides) (iii) training in production techniques, (iv) training in fast composting techniques.
